We spent another amazing day at the beach yesterday, but I'm afraid Panama is beginning to take its toll on us. We had a few mishaps. I was feeling a little over-confident about my fabulous tan and decided to forgo the sunscreen this time so now I have to pay the price. We lathered the kids up pretty good and even they got a little pink. As we were showering the girls off at home afterwards Hosanna (the clumsy one) slipped and managed to gracefully land her head smack dab on the edge of the tile step. She has a lovely slit on the back of her head now. I am finding out that all this tile and concrete does not do well with small children. This morning the front gate was accidentally left open (for only about 20 seconds) and Zion pushed himself in his walker right over the edge of the porch and down two steps. He landed face first on the concrete walkway. His lip is pretty swollen but fortunately he is pretty resilient. I wonder what will happen tomorrow??? I guess its Rivka's turn to crack her head open.
We moved out of the company apartment into our own place. We aren't sure how long we will stay here. It all depends on how quickly we can find and afford to buy a house here in Panama. But for the first time in almost three months I can finally unpack my suitcases and settle in for awhile. There is a little Panamanian girl that lives next door and she comes over to play quite a bit; plus her mom has a little street vendor cart and sells fresh ohadras (scones) right outside our front door. The water taxi drop-off and the atm machine is across the street and the fish market and the park are each a block away so we are pretty happy here.
Enoch said the other day that he is getting stir crazy and wants to start working again (the office still isn't "done" so he hasn't started working full-time yet) but personally I just think the kids are wearing him out and he needs some time away from them. Hopefully he appreciates me a little more. He keeps asking me when I want to start looking for a nanny. I am thinking of putting the girls in preschool instead. You can start school at age 2 here so they would both be able to go, just as soon as we finish this whole potty-training thing with Hosanna- sigh. And for all of those who are wondering- NO I am not pregnant. This is usually about the time when we decide to have another one but for the sake of my sanity we are waiting a little longer this time. Maybe a lot longer.
