Five languages of love

I had some good chats with my sister-in-law while she was in town last week. She told me about the "5 languages of love" and how by recognizing the ways your children feel love you can better discipine and teach them. It got me thinking..... which category do I fit in? What about each of my kids? And Enoch?

There are five basic ways we feel loved.

Touch
Time
Gifts
Service
Verbal praise

Of course we all fit into several categories, but its interesting to think about our differences.

If your child feels love mostly through quality time spent with them, than taking away that time as a punishment will only make the child feel unloved and depressed and you will get even more "undesirable" behavior. Food for thought.

And its good to know whether your spouse is a "service" person and will really appreciate you folding his laundry.

You can read a bit more about each category HERE if you are interested.
