A family of explorers

It takes us 20 minutes to walk the three blocks to Rivka's school. Little kids really know how to stop and smell the roses.

There are a few major landmarks in our neighborhood that always draw special attention-
Lydia's tetherball
a lion's head garden sculpture
bush shaped like a seal
flag with ladybugs on it

And then there are treasures that cross our path and must be inspected closely-
sticks
rocks
bugs
dog poop
litter
and the most coveted item- pecan shells

Not quite as exotic as walking the streets of Panama, but definitely just as exciting.
