Night Out on the Town

We found a yard sale the other day with some used clothes and toys for sale, which is exciting because its hard to find those things on the island. The girls picked out this cute little rattle that they fight constantly over now. Its a woven basket-type thing with a bell inside. The local Indians make trinkets like this all the time, although I've never seen one like this before. A 5o cent bargain- woo-hoo! (it says Panama on it in case you can't tell)

One of the little road-side "shops" that we pass every morning on our walks had these little Indian dresses. We have been eyeing them for weeks now and I finally haggled the saleslady into selling them for 5 bucks each! The girls were soooo excited. They ran home and tried them on right away.

Since we have been completely unsuccessful at finding babysitters and movie nights at home were getting pretty dull (I just had to get out!) we took the kids out to dinner last night. With so many mouths to feed we opted to try out El Lorito, the cheap place with Panamanian cuisine. All the grease and meat hit our stomachs pretty hard but it was actually quite yummy. We had lentils, rice, chicken, and some meat-stuffed empanadas.
