We found some camping friends- yay!- with extra gear we could borrow so we had a lil' campout with them this weekend. The picture above is of all the kids waiting around the grill for their hot dogs (we saved the grilled salmon for the adults- hehe)After going to Girl's Camp in Texas four years ago in 100 plus degree weather I was a bit worried about how this whole experience would pan out. But we actually got a little chilly at night! Summer hasn't quite hit yet.

Here is a close-up of Z when you could actually still see his face through all the smudges. By the end of the trip he looked like a scraped-up bug-eaten racoon. And of course we brought his beloved doggie with us.

The marshmallows were a big hit, but first they woud roll them in the dirt, then toast and gobble.

Enoch found some cool spiders- glad I didn't know about them till we got home! They really are beautiful though- you can click to enlarge.

And what happens when you have boys near a fire?
They start lighting up the ends of sticks- even if they are grown-up daddies!
Then if they have a fancy camera they start taking pictures of themselves drawing things with their homemade glowsticks. Us girls joined in after a few minutes once we saw how fun it was- or maybe it was just very late...
See if you can tell what we drew-

We call this picture "The Fire Dance".

We love our camera! And we love camping!
