Eli's Bday:
So for Eli's Bday we all went to the China Buffet in Fresno and enjoyed some excellent deep fried Chinese delicacies such as Orange Chicken, Szechuan Jello jigglers (kids loved these), Shanghai pizza, french fries, calamari and oysters. :)
For his Bday we got him.....you guessed it, a SPARE TIRE!! Eli's comments follow:
A long arduous process complete at last, the old tire was incredibly sentimental to me after making a connection with the stories in its fibers; the new tire is hot off the press and dressed to impress, it most definitely looks like racing material. To infinity and beyond! So I stayed two days in Fresno, stayed with friends and family, had all you can eat buffet for my birthday on the 15th, got a ride to Santa Cruz with my aunt and cousin,
slept in a three story tree house last night 40 feet off the ground, built on four redwood trees.
The whole house swayed in the wind, and the sounds that high in the canopy were amazing, as well as the view of the Santa Cruz mountains.
I good friend here in town put me up in his studio for a couple days till he gets back from San Francisco. Gonna wash up and go surfing right now, grab some groceries and enjoy the vibes of Santa Cruz while I can.

Went surfing on saturday, nice and mellow waves, mostly just paddling around and enjoying the scenery.
Lost my pants while changing, wallet, cash, and cards. :) no worries, nothing I needed, trust me. Stayed up until 3:30 am trying to put together a blog with no avail, lame, oh well. Graham and Ashleigh returned yesterday so we had tea over relaxing conversation, then decided to cruise to the beach for some waves, I went in without a wetsuit and nearly froze to death, but I shredded two nice waves before my muscles cramped up so bad I couldn't paddle anymore, but it was totally worth it.
Then we sat and shared more tea, then a round of miso soup, and baked Brie with dried cranberries and strawberry preserve, it was an amazing symphony of flavors. I offered to cook the main dish and it ended up exceeding my imagined expectations.
Ill call it a vegan twist on "Pad Thai" i used sautéd onions, garlic and ginger until they were carmelized for a savory flavor, added some nice spices and creamy coconut milk to build a more complex and rich base, an island of sliced nishimi mushrooms, with fresh cilantro, chives, satay, peanut sauce on top to slowly introduce the flavors and let them build a diverse community together and infuse different characteristics, then garnished with slivers of candied mango and red pepper flakes, all over a bowl of buttered brown rice. :) and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I would have been happily ready to die after that marvelous last meal. :)
