The Non-hurricane

Houston certainly keeps us on our toes.

Last Saturday we had a fun little thunderstorm. Over six inches of rain came pouring down in buckets that afternoon. The power went out. Oh and the rain from the roof was spilling over the gutters and pooling on one side of our building, seeping in under our baseboards. As we spread all our towels across the tile floor (yay for tile!) and huddled together in the dark I was having Panama flashbacks. But the third-worldishness only lasted a few hours, then the lights came on and I made dinner as always.

Sometimes we need to be reminded of our blessings.
