This here is part of the Bocas Del Toro archipelago where we live. (You can click on the picture to make it bigger.) Almirante is where we go to church and is on the mainland of Panama about a 20 minute boat ride away. We live on Isla Colon in Bocas Town. The big development project Enoch's company is doing is on the isthmus just above the town. The beach we usually go to is actually on Isla Carenero but as you can see it is very close, really the closest beach to us. The beach along the isthmus on the Carenero side is pretty nice too and we sometimes go there. There are a few gorgeous beaches clear on the other side of Isla Colon but it is quite a trip to get there. You have to take a bus through this mountainous jungly road for half an hour. The red lines on the map are the paved roads. (Not a whole lot of them- haha) We have only been to two other islands besides our own. (three if you count Carenero) One time we went to Wizard Beach on Isla Bastimentos but it was more of a surfing beach (not too good for small kids) plus you have to hike over a mountain to get to it so we haven't been back since. Enoch's company has some properties on Bastimentos that they plan on developing as well. By far the most amazing place we have seen was Zapatilla. If you look in the bottom right-hand corner you will see 2 teeny islands. That's it! There are no houses or buildings on those islands, beautiful sandy beaches all the way around. (I can't remember which Zapatilla island we went to but they are both pretty much the same) On one side they have calm waters with a GORGEOUS reef and on the other side they have some good wave action. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk around the whole island. The only downer is that because it is so remote the taxi ride there is pretty pricey.
The border with Costa Rica is just north of where the map ends. So this is where we've been the past 6 months. Sometimes it feels like we've dropped off the face of the earth, I know! It is so easy to take all this natural wonder for granted. Sometimes I have to remind myself to look around and be amazed. It is so beautiful here.

I am so envious that you guys live in such a beautiful area, I wish I was more daring that I could live on an island and adapt to the aera! Someday maybe!
